Tressels, Fickells, Urbans, Days, Johnsons and Days,
I'll find out on Saturday if it is still difficult to get a hot dog here.
Made the trip up to Evanston for the Ohio State game this weekend. I've been here a few times and I don't think there is a more difficult place in the country to get a hot dog than Ryan Field when Buckeye fans come to visit. The stadium is essentially a glorified high school stadium and not suited to truly host a packed house.
I'm guessing the same phenomenon occurs when Penn State fans visit, and maybe that Team Up North (relative to Ohio). I'll ask around this weekend.
The juxtaposition of a road game at Northwestern after traveling to Penn State last weekend must be a little bizarre for the Buckeye players. I doubt any Northwestern fans will be partying outside the OSU team hotel until 4am the night before the game. I'll also venture a guess that no Northwestern crazies are going to throw food and drinks on the Buckeye players as they try to get to the field from their locker room. It may be louder when Northwestern has the ball in Ryan Field this Saturday.
Near the end of the first quarter last weekend against Penn State, I thought the Buckeyes may be able to send the PSU fans home early and were on their way to another blowout. And then a couple missed tackles later, that wasn't the case. Once Ohio State decided to push tempo and try to score every position, they did for a good stretch of the fourth quarter - but not before making me yell at my television which is not a great look for someone in their 40s.
I'm assuming I won't be yelling out of frustration this weekend, and I'll eat a hot dog before I go into the game. I'll hold every game to 66-0, 77-21, 52-21, 49-10, 49-20, 54-10 and 44-31 context and I still know that's dumb. But, I think it's there this season. I'm still in.
Touchdowns: Dallan, Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr., Marvin, Julian Fleming, Cade Stover, Xavier Johnson
