The one-two punch of TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams is quite literally taking college football by storm. Henderson has lightning-type speed and explosiveness, and Williams provides the thunder with his bludgeoning, downhill style of running, pinballing his way through attempted tackles.

Both running backs would start on just about any team in the B1G, and both would be the feature back on more than half of the teams in college football.

In the new age of college football with NIL and players entering the transfer portal on a daily basis, this would probably be a major conundrum for Ohio State if we were talking about two players at the quarterback position. The Buckeyes are all-too-familiar with that, thanks to the Dwayne Haskins/Joe Burrow situation a few years ago.

But on a team like Ohio State, there is an embarrassment of riches at multiple positions. This has been the case for years, especially after Urban Meyer took over as coach. He brought recruiting to a whole new level, and Ryan Day has carried the torch from thereon.

Back to the original point of this post, Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson have split carries from the get go. Both have also suffered from injuries this season, leaving the door open for the other to get the majority of the snaps. No matter what the situation has been, there hasn't been a drop-off in production whatsoever, and the team is averaging more rushing yards per game than it did a year ago.

Part of it has been the schematics of it all, as Ryan Day brought in Justin Frye from UCLA to take the position of associate head coach for offense and offensive line coach following the 2021 season. So far, the O-line has looked more physical, imposing its will on the opposition.

Perhaps it wouldn't be as apparent that the offensive line has looked more physical if Ohio State didn't have one of the best running back duos in all of college football.
