A question for some of our smarter Xs-and-Os members I had: are the struggles of our cornerbacks tied to Jim Knowles' scheme or maybe Tim Walton's technique? Though the entire defense has performed leaps and bounds ahead of last season, the CBs seem to be struggling more conspicuously than last year. It seems odd because the personnel is largely the same (with Brown and Burke back) but they're regularly being beaten on 50/50 balls, as are some of the younger guys coming in to back them up.

At first, I thought it might be due to the cloud coverage the CBs are being asked to play these days, but I've been watching more closely and the last couple of games, there has been more press coverage with similar results. I'd appreciate if someone with more football knowledge than me could weigh in on what we're seeing...
