Interesting sideline interaction between Coach Day and Coach Schiano. A disagreement about a “fake” punt with the game well out of hand led to Schiano running all the way to the opposite sideline to break up a scuffle between players, as well as give some choice words to Day. My opinion: This clearly was not a fake punt. It’s a built in “go” call for our punter when he sees green grass in front of him in our rugby style scheme. Most everyone knows that, certainly including Schiano. Grumpy Schiano still hadn’t gotten over it by the time the post game handshake took place, though he knows full well that there was no malicious intent by OSU. Thoughts on this? Hoping for memes and thoughtful allegory regarding Rutgers.
