Learned a few interesting things from tonight’s media availability with wide receivers and special teams coordinator Parker Fleming:

• I’ll write a full story on this too, but Kamryn Babb described his knee injury as “just a little nick” and said he remains confident he’ll be able to make an impact this season. He was seen wearing a sizable brace on his knee after practice, but said Ohio State is being cautious with him given his injury history.
• Xavier Johnson said he was placed on scholarship the week of the Oregon game last season, but chose not to publicize it because he wanted to keep the focus on the team rather than himself.
• Parker Fleming said Parker Lewis is now practicing with the team but Ohio State has not yet received word on whether he will eligible to play this season. OSU is continuing to sort through his academic eligibility with the NCAA.
• An Ohio State spokesperson said 25 NFL teams have applied for press box credentials to send scouts to next week’s season opener against Notre Dame. That’s a lot more than a typical game.
