With a big-time program like Ohio State, big-time players come hand in hand. What is the catalyst for acquiring great players? The answer, my friends, is recruiting. Outside of Alabama and maybe Georgia, no team has recruited better than Ohio State since Urban Meyer's first recruiting class acquired guys like Vonn Bell, Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott, and Eli Apple in 2013.

But the Buckeyes have been acquiring talent for decades, thus it is the second-winningest program in the history of college football. Since recruiting has been calculated, only Ted Ginn Jr. and Terrelle Pryor (I'm excluding Quinn Ewers because he never played a snap for Ohio State before transferring to Texas) rank higher than current Buckeyes J.T. Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer. The pair happened to be a part of the same (2021) recruiting class, and they will both be true sophomores this coming season. Will they be the best defensive end duo in the country?

Although I agree with Dan Hope that Jack Sawyer will be the starter at the defensive end/jack position this coming season, I'm speaking hypothetically because Zach Harrison will likely split snaps with Jack Sawyer this coming season. When I ask whether J.T. Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer will be the best defensive end duo in the country, I'm not necessarily asking whether it will happen in 2022. However, I do believe it could if both of them get enough snaps in the fall.

So, what are your thoughts? Will they be the best defensive end duo in the country? If so, could it possibly happen as early as this coming season? What do you think of the Jack Sawyer/Zach Harrison scenario? Despite being highly touted, Harrison has had just 71 tackles, and 8.5 sacks in his first three seasons at Ohio State. Should Sawyer play the majority of snaps?

Although most of us have our own generalized idea of what might happen, no one knows what will happen until it happens. The only thing we do know for sure is that it will be fun to find out!

As always, God bless, and GO BUCKS!
