Former Ohio State walk-on Garrison Smith has landed an opportunity to be a scholarship player.
Smith, who entered the transfer portal in April, announced Saturday that he is transferring to McNeese State, where he will be on scholarship.
I will always appreciate my OSU coaches, teammates, and all Buckeye fans, but Ive been given an opportunity I cant pass up.

Smith did not kick in any games in his lone season as a Buckeye walk-on, though he made a 38-yard field goal in this year’s spring game. He’ll bring four years of eligibility to McNeese State, which plays at the FCS level.
