Cardale Jones’ stint with the CFL’s Edmonton Elks lasted only two weeks.
Just 14 days after he was signed by the Elks to replace fellow former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett, Jones was released by the Elks on Friday.
Elks announce several moves, adding Sherman Badie (RB) to active roster & releasing Cardale Jones (QB).

Jones, who last played in a professional football game with the XFL’s D.C. Defenders in 2020, has been attempting to resume his pro football career this year, participating in Ohio State’s pro day in March. He’ll now have to look for another opportunity if he’s going to make that happen, though, as his time in Edmonton is over.
