Amidst all the rumors of his possible departure, I thought it might be worthwhile to reflect on all the pros and cons of his tenure. 

I'm no coaching expert, just a fan who has been perusing Buckeye football boards since the late 90's.  

It seems there are many who are eager for Studrawa to go, and I'm curious if we aren't being a little too hasty and presumptuous that things will be better after he's gone just because we are Ohio State. 

As far as landing talent it appears to me, we are experiencing a golden age for the OL.  I can't recall a time where we had more reliable OL depth season after season for the past 5 years. 

I sense that Ed Warinner may have been better at developing Offensive Lines overall. But even in those years , depth was always an issue.   We had back to back years, where we needed converted defensive lineman (Daryl Baldwin and Chase Farris) to fill in the gaps.  Thankfully, 2014 was injury free and the rest was history as they say.

I also recall the Tressel years, where we struggled mightily to get quality of depth and missed out on many prospects.  Even the heralded "Block O" class ended up good, but not as great as we hoped and a ton of "project" prospects like Chris Carter, Antonio Underwood, Josh Kerr, etc. filled our 2 deep  .

I think the biggest problem this year was being a victim of our own success at OL recruiting.  We tried playing too many Tackles at 4 positions because we had too much talent to risk alienating, say a Paris Johnson Jr. or Dawand Jones sitting on the bench.

I think it may be hard to acclimate to the fact that we are now pass first philosophy with coach Day and with that, pass protection is the priority over the mean and nasty run blocking we've been wanting to see. (queue the "why not both?" girl) 

I'm pretty neutral overall and not a Stud pom pom promoter, believe it or not, just wanted to get your perspective.  Am I wrong about this and has it been much better in the past and I am recalling this incorrectly? Just curious.
