Another Ohio State quarterback is entering the transfer portal.

Walk-on quarterback J.P. Andrade entered the portal on Monday, becoming the fourth Ohio State quarterback to do so since the end of the regular season.

Scholarship quarterbacks Jack Miller and Quinn Ewers and fellow walk-on quarterback Jagger LaRoe all entered the portal in December. Miller has since transferred to Florida and Ewers has since transferred to Texas. LaRoe stayed with the Buckeyes through the end of the season to serve as their third-string quarterback for the Rose Bowl, but will now look for the opportunity to play elsewhere.

Andrade, who chose to walk on with Ohio State over multiple scholarship offers out of high school, did not play in any games in three seasons with the Buckeyes.

His departure leaves Ohio State with just two returning quarterbacks for the 2022 season, C.J. Stroud and Kyle McCord. Incoming freshman Devin Brown will be joining the Buckeyes next week after participating in this week’s All-American Bowl, and it’s likely Ohio State will also look to add at least one new walk-on quarterback to the roster for additional depth.
