For those who don’t remember, Coach Tim Hinton was Urban’s TE coach from 2012-2015. When Urban promoted Warriner & hired Beck, Hinton was moved to a support staff and special assistant to the Head Coach role at OSU.

First, kudos to Tim for adapting to this demotion off of the staff. He wanted to be at Ohio State, probably wanted to be done with the recruiting mess and 70 - 80 hours a week grind.  You can still seem pics of him involved with the team & he’s still referred to as Coach Hinton by players and coaches.

Second, why couldn’t this be a possibility for coaches like Stud (who has some physical limitations with his back) or even LJ… who is 70.  Heck, maybe even Coombs could keep his state pension by talking g such a role, or a Leadership AD dept. role like the one Urban was given. He’s a proven leader and motivator. These guys could stay around the game, the program, the players, etc. without having to recruit and all the wear and tear on the body.

Obviously, like Hinton, they’d have to be ready for it and accept it. But it could be a win-win for sure if they would.
