This Rose Bowl is going to shut the yap yaps of all the “yeah we’re soft now” crowd of milk sop fans. They just love to cuddle up with Angst.
Those people who actually know one of the kids in this program also know they are not “soft”. Not physically anyway. Perhaps some post-MSU overconfidence mixed with the VERY REAL sickness that went around even during The Game itself…contributed to the lacklusterness of the team in general.
if you rewatch especially the second half, you will see lethargic movements at the line of scrimmage. They battled it out to a draw in the first half, but fatigue brought the loss of “micro-movements” (twitch), making those sick players “just a step slow”.
Athletes fight it all the time, but in the end, everybody succumbs. Especially if your immune system is busy fending off a toxin. Rapid loss of energy that brings one to exhaustion, only continuing to play on because of the pride (and Mick’s program).
But all that’s done. We look to next year out of necessity. I’m actually glad Nishigan players, coaches, and fans are getting in their second “ten years worth of smack”. If it comes ONCE every ten years, then ok. I can deal with it. We can still call it a rivalry, and understand that Nishigan MUST squeal and snort so loudly as they’ve done…because they get to do it so rarely! Imagine, only relishing their year of self-satisfying smugness…every DECADE or so! Maybe a couple or three times in a lifetime! Woo hoo!
Have some compassion… some compassion, fellow poison nuts, and simply chuckle, snortle, and snicker at the middle school antics of our neighbors to the north. Guffaw if you must.
I call a few of them my friends, and today, earfuls come cheap! When the world is re-balanced next November, all I am gonna wear to the annual cookout with my Nishigan friends is…a smile! Yes…and clothes. No words, no texts…no emails. No gloating “Gotcha back!” Diatribes. Just Silence…and like they say…”Silence like a cancer grows.”
Then imagine tacking on one of those Grinch smiles…but over the course of four or five hours?

But back to the Utah game at hand…”the yutes didn know…your onna …they didn know wut they wuz walkn into…”
