Pre-Snap penalties should Rarely happen when you are the home team, but a major concern is that the Bucks had 7 of them last night, with the Center getting called for 3 of them on One drive. Fortunately, this did not cost us this game, but one could argue that it was major contributor to the loss against Oregon where we had 3 false starts (all in Oregon territory). Obviously, in big games these penalties put the Offense behind schedule in games where we are scratching for every yard. We expect a few of these on the road where it is tougher to hear the count or clap, but it is potentially a killer against good teams at Home. The Offense needs to figure this out or it will eventually cost us. The strange thing is that we have not had very many of these in other games ... just against Oregon and PSU. Of course, how the refs in these games missed the PSU hold on Eichenberg as well as Sewell clearly spearing Olave with the crown of his helmet in the Oregon game which would have given OSU a first down on the final drive is just incredible.
