So we've got a 7:30 kickoff @ Indiana on 10/23 and a prime night game opportunity in the Shoe looming with Penn State on 10/30. That got me wondering how often Ohio State's played in consecutive night games (note: I'm defining a night game as a 7:00 pm ET or later kickoff). Turns out, it's not that uncommon.

Since 2013, we have played consecutive night games in a row in six seasons. In three seasons, we played three in a row (although a BYE was inserted between games in a couple of them).

2013: Wisconsin (9/28) and @Northwestern (10/5)
2014: @Penn State (10/25), Illinois (11/1), and @Michigan State (11/8)
2015: Penn State (10/17), @Rutgers (10/24), BYE 10/31, and Minnesota (11/7)
2016: @Wisconsin (10/15) and @Penn State (10/22)
2019: @Nebraska (9/28), Michigan State (10/5), BYE 10/12, @Northwestern (10/18)
2020: @Penn State (10/31) and Rutgers (11/7) but no fans due to COVID

By my count, from 2013-2020, we played in 27 regular season night games--11 were at home and 16 were on the road (I'm including TCU in 2018 at Jerry's World as a road game; even though it was technically a "neutral" site, let's be honest: it was in TCU's backyard). Over a four-year stretch from 2014-2017, we played in four regular season night games each season.

From 2013-2015, we played 11 night games--seven at home and four away--and from 2016-2020, we played 16 night games--four at home and 12 away. It's crazy how starting in 2016 night game scheduling tilted away from us where other schools have been getting these night game slots against us while our best home games seem to become Fox's first pick for Big Noon Saturday.
