538 has released its playoff predictor after 4 weeks. It’s a really fun tool that predicts the outcomes of the remaining games and likelihood of a team making the playoff based on the criteria of previous participants.
OSU currently has a 15% chance to make the playoffs with a 97% chance to make it if they win out. So essentially the model is predicting OSU only has about a 20% chance of winning out. Michigan(who can afford another loss) has a 17% chance to make the playoffs.
Georgia and Bama both have a 55% chance to make the playoffs currently. I think the most interesting team is Notre Dame who has a 25% chance to make it. Their schedule is so easy after UC this reflects how easy it would be to go 12-0 despite their lackluster performance so far.
