Hi guys - I saw this comment on Reddit on the post about K'Vaughan Pope transferring as an interesting summary about how Ohio State's 2018 recruiting class has shaped up and figured I'd share it here. Not sure how accurate this is, I haven't done the research, but gives some insight on how there seems to be a bit of a tenured talent gap at OSU. link to comment
- Nicholas Petit Frere (OT) - emerged in 2020 & 2021 as a solid tackle
- Taron Vincent (DT) - lots of injuries, playing okay in 2021 but hasn't lived up to being a top 20 player
- Tyreke Johnson (DB) - never played, transferred
- Jaelen Gill (RB) - never played, transferred
- Tyreke Smith (DE) - playing okay in 2020 & 2021, hasn't lived up to top 50 player
- Jeremy Ruckert (TE) - excellent but underutilized TE
- Teradja Mitchell (LB) - starter in 2021, been okay
- Tommy Togiai (DT) - good in 2020 only, went pro
- Matthew Jones (OC) - playing in 2021, been pretty good
- Josh Proctor (DB) - was starting safety, lots of injuries
- Kamryn Babb (WR) - never played, injuries
- Brian Snead (RB) - kicked off team
- Tyler Friday (DT) - never really played, injuries
- Max Wray (OT) - never played, transferred
- L'Christian Smith (WR) - Never played, injuries, transferred
- Dallas Gant (LB) - Never played, transferred
- Anwuan Jackson (DT) - transfer in from Blinn, plays a bit
- K'Vaughan Pope (LB) - Fucc Ohio State
- Javontae Jean Baptiste (OLB) - plays a bit, average at best
- Sevyn Banks (DB) - starter in 2020, in dog house for 2021
- Master Teague (RB) - average RB
- Cameron Brown (WR) - plays DB now, is good but always injured
- Matthew Baldwin (QB) - never played, transferred
- Chris Olave (WR) - Is a god, very handsome, future 1st round pick
- Alex Williams (DE) - never plays, but apparently is an RA on campus according to LinkedIn so there's that
- Marcus Hooker (DB) - played, was awful, drunk driving, hasn't played since
Not the greatest hit rate in 2018 by this comment's standards.
