We saw multiple receivers slipping out of their breaks on Saturday, and the aesthetic of the field has clearly taken a nosedive since it was installed in 2014(?).
Ohio Stadium needs a major turf upgrade The Horseshoe is too great of a football cathedral to have a stale deteriorating field like this.

Although these are different production crews in the two images, people that attended the Oregon game have said the field looks to be in bad condition. The aesthetic of the field does not necessitate immediate change, in my opinion, but when the field is impacting players in ways similar to the 2006 Ohio State season, there is no question the turf needs replaced. Field turf tends to last 8-10 years but I am not sure there can be a wait after this season. Do any staff members know if there was plan before Covid to replace it? I would imagine that is one of many budget cuts from the Athletic Department over the past 18 months.
