Ohio State will face Miami in the Cotton Bowl after the Hurricanes beat Texas A&M, 10-3.
I wanted to take a moment to ensure I gave some kudos to members of Buckeye Nation that treated our opposing fan base with class and respect yesterday.
Obviously the game didn’t turn out the way many of us would have liked. Being in and around the stadium yesterday, I got a chance to be around a lot of people, including Ducks fans, and take it all in. Beyond the loss, I wanted to find some silver linings, and I was happy to find some right away.
For those who were congratulatory and polite to Ducks fans, thank you. I overheard many conversations ranging from the Xs and Os, to recommendations for restaurants and attractions around town, to finding commonalities beyond football (to the Ducks fans that could recite every punchline from How I Met Your Mother, much respect sir.)
I guess I bring this up as a means to extend a wider tip of the cap to everyone else who fell into this category. As an aging alumnus, this stuff is becoming more and more important to me, and I want to ensure I acknowledge those who showed the class indicative of an Ohio State fan.
Once more, to those who chose to respond with grace, Thank you and Go Bucks!
