Day can find someone more comfortable running his desired style of defense, which would require a staff shake-up in the throes of the season. That seems a bit unlikely. Or he can let Coombs change some things up and design a defensive plan according to his tastes and one that is more suitable to the personnel on hand.

Article suggests (comes right and says?) that the one high safety, static defense is a Ryan Day preference (requirement?). Maybe it isn't all on Coombs?
