Do you prefer your soul-crushing defeats in the early afternoon, the late afternoon or the evening?

Since every year brings national title aspirations, by definition, every loss is soul crushing. Thinking back on the last couple of decades, I think I prefer my debilitating defeat in the early afternoon. 

On the one hand, I had to muddle through the remainder of the day yesterday. On the other hand, I had some sunshine outside and the chance to shake off some of it by bedtime and I woke up better.

An evening loss like Clemson 2019 both means I am likely pretty far into a bottle by the end of the game, and then I didn't sleep at all and the next day really really sucked, extending the feeling through extra days.

Late afternoon brings back memories of Sparty '98 when I was supposed to go out after the game with my girlfriend (which I did not do) and I was angry the rest of the day and the next.

So I am going with humiliation, despair and pathos early in the day over the other options. When do you prefer to have your heart wrenched from your body?
