It was no secret that the OSU defense was terrible last year and after Bama scored on every single possession against us Greg Mattison promptly retired. It was obvious Coombs needed help coordinating the defense and Ryan Day searched throughout the country to fill that role with the massive resources he had. Who did he bring in to replace Mattison?

Well Parker Fleming, a GA and relative to OSU mega donors. Parker Fleming has 0 knowledge on defense and is simply the special teams coordinator. After all the talk of Ryan Day being a “killer” the dude promoted his buddy on the staff. Coombs will rightfully be gone after this year but would love to see if maybe we can get back to using our resources on defense instead of Day’s buddy.
