Slippery Field - We can’t have our own field be the cause of so many slips during crucial moments. Receivers slipping on critical downs, RB’s unable to juke taking a huge part of their game away. I get both teams had to deal with it but it appeared to be more costly to OSU and when you’re the home team, you can’t have the crappy state of the field remove one of the advantages of playing from home.
No Flags - I didn’t want to go here, but once they called Munford for that super ticky-tack hold right after our TE was molested in the end zone with no call, right after Olave got jammed in the end zone with no call, and then when Olave was speared in the purest and most textbook way with no call, you have to recognize that the officiating influenced the outcome here.
Klatt Recruting for the PAC12 and Cristobal - Listen, I’m a huge Klatt fan as an announcer, but I never want to hear him call an OSU game against the PAC again. He would not shut up about Cristobal. Yes, he’s done a good job there. But this isn’t Oregon State we’re talking about here. Oregon is a perennial contender and a powerhouse who has taken full advantage of USC and their move to become an academic-focused institution under their new president. Joel was talking up Oregon like this was Army that knocked off OSU. Chill out dude and try to come off a little more neutral next time. Just grating as a fan to listen to the whole game.
Wait, was Thibedauxx not playing today?….- Speaking of ear-grating announcing, have you ever heard the announcers refer so many times to a player that couldn’t go due to unjury? That could apply to a third of our D half the time but we never get that treatment. This whole thing wreaked of a PAC infomercial that just added salt to the wound.
Eff Oregon, But We Must Root for Them - While I don’t want to do it, it’s our best chance at still getting things together and making the playoff. We have to see Oregon continue to look so good. Which, we also have to give them credit that they look like a great team. I DO 100% believe we would win this game if we saw them again in the playoff, as I think our team needed more time this year to get their stuff together and we fell behind by too much to catch back up in the end. Credit to Oregon, screw them, and credit to the OSU players that played their butts off and really put us in position to be able to win. We just didn’t have enough things go our way today. But the game was close enough that we shouldn’t be punished to heavily after taking on a top OOC team to start the year.
