Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you

OHIO STATE'S FOUR REGULAR SEASON THURSDAY NIGHT GAMES
YEAR LOCATION RESULT
2021 Minneapolis Tonight
2017 Bloomington Ohio State 49, Indiana 21
2010 Columbus Ohio State 45, Marshall 7
1997 Columbus Ohio State 24, Wyoming 10

How rare is a regular season Thursday night game for Ohio State? Extremely rare. Prior to tonight, the Indiana banger in 2017 and the opener against Wyoming in 1997 were Ohio State's only other Thursday regular season games.

Historically, Thursday tilts were a regular staple on the Buckeyes' schedule. Between 1890 and 1917, Ohio State played 24 games on Thursday, with the majority of them being on Thanksgiving.

There were six bowl games. played between 1975 and 2015. The Buckeyes were 3-3 in those post season matchups. Let's not focus on the 1976 Rose Bowl loss, the upset to Air Force in 1990 or the beating Florida State handed out in 1997. Instead, let's remember the most significant win in the '15 Sugar Bowl over Alabama.

Heading into tonight's battle against the Gophers, Ohio State has an overall record of 20–12–1 when playing on Thursday. The program is 17–9–1 when playing in regular season games on the fifth day of the week. The last regular season loss on Thursday was in 1912 against Michigan State (25-30).
