Luke Farrell is getting some preseason recognition.
The returning Ohio State starting tight end has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2019 John Mackey Award, given annually to the top tight end in college football.
Last season, Farrell had 20 catches for 205 yards and a touchdown. He enters his junior season as a returning starter and is expected to see the bulk of the tight end reps.
Ohio State has never produced a Mackey Award winner.
