The National College Football Awards Association completed its two-week rollout of preseason watch lists on Friday, when nominees for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award were announced, and Ohio State was well-represented once again.
Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett, center Billy Price and defensive end Tyquan Lewis, all seniors, are each among the 40 players on the watch list for the award, which honors college football's best player.
All three players have been nominated for multiple awards this watch list season. Barrett was previously selected to the Davey O'Brien Award, Maxwell Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list. Price has been nominated for the Outland Trophy and Rimington Trophy. Lewis was chosen for the Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch lists.
An Ohio State player has won the Walter Camp Award on four previous occasions. Troy Smith won the award in 2006, Eddie George won the award in 1995 and Archie Griffin won the award in both 1974 and 1975. All four of those players won the Heisman Trophy the same year.
