After this, would you reseed or keep original seeds and have lowest ranked play highest ranked to the championship game? 

I would have the first round games before Chirstmas (still gives teams 3 weeks off to rest), then keep the New Year game as the semifinals and second Monday of January as Championship. This would be fun to watch!
