We are to the point where the real 2015 Ohio State Buckeyes will be revealed. OSU's schedule becomes much more difficult in the stretch run. It's strange to wait until November to understand what this team is really all about. It is even more strange for an undefeated defending national champion to have so much to overcome. Oddly, this team is still in-flux at starting QB, working through a rash of injuries and ranked #3 in the CFP.
Here are a few quick thoughts on the game:
- It is tough to throw the ball at Illinois; the stadium will be a wind tunnel. The read option with JT should be an effective route.
- After a series of primetime tilts, this weekend begins a string of mid-day/afternoon games. Hopefully, OSU adjusts to early starts after later games for most of the season.
- We are nearing the time last year when Zeke really turned it on...we'll see if that happens again this year.
- OSU is starting to get some players back that will help special teams depth...and defensive line depth.
- Much of the team will start thinking about their NFL draft auditions during these high-profile, late-season games...I could see that adding even a little more motivation.
