JT Barrett has rushed 5 times in 2015. In 2015, he averaged 14 carries per game.
And in the last 2 games, Cardale as rushed 8 times total (13 against Va Tech).
Our 2014 offense relied heavily on the QB run threat to open up other opportunities for playmakers. This season,, we've seen a complete reversal of that scheme since Va Tech.
Meyer/Beck are piloting their way through troubled waters, IMO. A near shut-down of the key QB rush-threat does not occur in a vacuum. I absolutely believe this offense will be just fine by mid-November. But, we may have to limp our way through the next 5 or 6 games to put ourselves in position for another Championship run.
Does JT need a little more time? Does Cardale have a nagging ding? Is Cardale stepping up to fill a void? Who knows. Meyer can't disclose certain things.
There are so many possible reasons for a flat offense other than "idiot coaches" or "half-assed QB's". Maybe we, as sophisticated Buckeye fans, should examine some of those possibilities.
