There are two things that we heard over and over during the BCS era: the SEC was the dominant conference of that era, and that college football is cyclical. I don't think the first point can be disputed with the SEC run of seven consecutive titles won by four separate teams and another title from Tennessee in '98. The question is whether indeed we are entering a new cycle.

OSU is the reigning champ, MSU has won five straight bowls and finished the last two years in the top 5. Michigan and PSU, two universities with all the resources and tradition necessary to achieve excellence seem to have finally got the right coaches in place. It is also worth noting that all four of those schools are currently in the top 11 of the 247 recruiting composite rankings. There might not be great depth through the bottom of the conference, but certainly Wisconsin and/or Nebraska will continue to provide sword-sharpening tests to whoever comes out of the East.

So, the question for the board is whether or not the B1G is poised to dominate the next decade of college football the way the SEC dominated the last. I vote in GIF form.

What do you think, Lana?
