I saw this link to a short article that shows a really cool graphic of the Elo Rating system, explaining how the 2014 Buckeyes were an historic outlier in statistical history (rated from 1982-2014).
In both categories of Improvement and Dominance, they rated at the top...very close to another outlier in both those categories...the 2008 Gators.
Although the 1995 Corn Huskers had a slightly higher season ending average, their balance of Improvement and Dominance wasn't as good...represented by the light gray dot above OSU vertically, but far away horizontally. The Gators had the second best Improvement/Dominance rating as pictured in the graph.
Meyer owns the TWO highest outlier seasons in college football history.
