Just read the 11W article about the B1G success as a conference, and how it must step up to the challenge. Every time we have that conversation, I get so frustrated that the administrators from Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, etc. sit back and collect a cool $26 mil a year for other team's successes. The same teams that held back OSU, MSU, and Wisco for years are now touting their successes, all in the name of the almighty dollar.
They are never going to change unless that cash is threatened. I'd love to see a two division promotion and regulation system like Euro soccer leagues set up in the region, bringing in competitive teams from the MAC and AAC to potentially knock the Indianas and Illinois down to lower play and lower pay until they decide to get their shit together.
I'd look at Cincinnati, Pitt, Northern Illinois and potentially Marshall.
Anybody else in favor of this idea? Who would you add to the second division?
