I noticed during the B1G CG that Cardale seems to prefer throwing without touching the strings. He throws a very tight spiral, and his accuracy was much better than advertised. Counterintuitive, at least to me. 

Anyone else notice this or am I taking a few throws out of context? I know we have many former footballers in our midst; anyone share that propensity?

As a average sized dude (5'11") with fairly small hands, it's incredible to me that anyone can throw a spiral with touching the strings at all.
