I think the college football playoff teams should remain secretive with the committee until the conference championships are finalized. The committee could weigh the entire year, unbiased, and release their four teams. The AP and Coaches poll would provide enough discussion material and speculation throughout the season, week to week. There could be a Selection Show to pair the bowl teams and pick the "Final Four" in similar fashion to the NCAA Basketball Tournament selection.
