If the question were "Would Ohio State like to be a perennial top 10 basketball school?", I feel the answer is a resounding yes. But my question is, "Is Ohio State committed to being a top 10 basketball school?"

Evidence of commitment: a great culture where former players including many with NBA careers remain loyally tied to the program; several 1 or 2 seeds in the dance in the last couple decades; more seasons finishing atop the final AP poll than any other Big Ten program (tied with IU with 4); more Final Fours (11) than all programs aside from only UCLA, UK, UNC, Duke, and Kansas.

Where the commitment gets questioned: Building a concert venue instead of a basketball-specific arena; no Big Ten or BTT titles in almost a decade; seemingly not opening up the checkbook for hires; commitment to 35+ varsity sports possibly getting in the way; going 1969-1998 without a Final Four appearance.

Curious if others genuinely believe OSU is committed to a top 10 basketball program or whether the Athletic Department is content with periodic success.
