Joey Julius, the 5'10" and 258 pound kicker, has left Penn State's football team to address his eating disorder.
He went public with his binge eating disorder last season and had an interview with ABC News. Part of what he revealed from the piece in October: "I was always calling myself fat, disgusting, lazy ugly. My name is Joey Julius and I have an eating disorder."
He received help last year, but was unable to shake the depression and anxiety that led to his binge eating disorder. In May of 2017, Julius wrote the following on social media: "Struggling over the last couple months with my eating disorder. It got to the point where I had to return to St. Louis to seek further treatment at the McCallum Place. Recovery is a wonderful and beautiful thing that I am working on returning.”
Julius was known for his big size, his big leg (50% touchbacks) and his big hits. Hoping that he can get the help he needs and get healthy.
