I have received 3 work emails from 3 different people in the last week (two engineers and one sales person) that contained at least one "lol". I personally find this unprofessional and annoying, but my wife says I'm just being a "get off my lawn" guy. I'm only 29 so I've grown up with the use of "lol" in text messages and, back in the day, instant messanger type things. But it just seems to me like it does not belong in a work email, and it has been bothering me. So I open it up to you, the 11W commentariat, what are your thoughts? Should this bother me? Or am I just being a grumpy "get off my lawn" guy about this?
