Former Michigan running back Mike Hart earned notoriety among Buckeye fans earlier this millennium by returning for his senior season for one last crack at Ohio State in 2007. The former Big Ten Freshman of the Year left Michigan 0-4 against his bitter rivals.

Hart spent the next two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before joining Eastern Michigan in 2011 as an offensive quality control coach. After earning a promotion to running backs coach, Hart took over the same spot on P.J. Fleck's staff at Western Michigan in 2014.

In 2015, Hart suffered his fifth loss to Ohio State when the WMU Broncos fell to the Buckeyes, 38-12.

After a stint at Syracuse in 2016, Hart will hope the sixth time is the charm against the OSU as he's joining Tom Allen's Indiana staff as running backs coach.

Matt Weaver of Scout first reported the news. Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star later confirmed it.

Indiana opens its 2017 season by hosting Ohio State in Bloomington on Aug. 31.
