PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
I have a vague recollection...
I was fortunate enough to participate 3 times thanks to that victory lap
“There are some people addicted to alcohol, some people are addicted to gambling,” Luginbill said. “Urban Meyer is addicted to football, and he’s addicted to winning.”
I remember drunkenly giving Sean Connolly advice on how he could improve his jumpshot at, I believe, The Library. In hindsight, I'm probably really lucky I didn't get punched in the face.
+1 for given drunken advice and reminding me of the bar named The Library. Always thought that was a clever name for a bar.

My favorite memory of my senior crawl was also at the Library (probably because I don't remember much else). The bar was packed and we were having issues getting to the door trying to leave the bar. I told my buddy to hold his hand over his mouth. At the same time I screamed repeatedly "this dude is going to puke". His acting was impeccable. I will never forget the path that opened up for our group of 8 or so to walk straight out the front door. I felt like Moses parting the Red Sea.
Try it sometime.:)
That is a fantastic idea.
35 hours to Pasadena! Go Bucks!
I did but it was pretty low key. Most of my friends had graduated already and either had moved away or were on with their careers and couldn't do it. I had a couple who were able to pull it off. We hit up the necessary bars and I'll put the chances at good to quite good that I was hammered. I did do it again the next year with my best friend's wife and her friends from the Perfusion department in the med school. We had a good time that night too.
I vividly remember starting a couple. Couldn't tell you when I crossed the finish line on either.
I with the Scholar wouldnt have painted their bathroom, signing the ceiling was one of my finer moments... I can still find said signature at the Out R Inn though.

Spring 90... my has High St. changed.

Still sad I didn't. Bunch of my (30-year-old) coworkers relived it when our intern graduated, though. CEO managed to pick a fight and get the lead developer a black eye, while my boss got so drunk he tried to fight a bush... and lost. Good times.
I crawled twice. Once when most of my friends graduated in Spring '06 and when I actually did graduate in Winter '06.
Fun fact- you can donate your crawl shirt, or any other memorabilia, to the OSU Archives for safekeeping. They told us during a tour last week that it would have to be clean and/or sealed. Hah.
We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...
(Also, I'm not a dude)
Haha, we lived on Patterson at the same time and graduated the same quarter. That is way too funny.
I didn't know about donating the crawl shirt, though. That's interesting. I couldn't tell you where mine is. Probably got mixed in the rubble of the last house I lived in before moving away from Columbus. If I did still have it, I'd give it to them as it clearly isn't that big of a deal that I don't have it now.
That is funny. We crawled South to North so we would end close to good ol' West Pat. The Stube to Ledo's if memory serves...
My crawl shirt is tucked into the bottom of a drawer. I don't know if I'll ever get rid of it.
Wow. I did the opposite. I went North to South, Ledo's to Stube circa 2002. My last crawl came three years ago when we did it for a friend's bachelor party. Sadly, I was more belligerent and out of control at that one. I don't think I drank more, I think I just held my liquor better in my college days.

Oh, and I still have my crawl shirt in my closet. I get it out every couple of years and reminisce. My highlight was getting to drink and ride on the Coors Light Fire Truck with the Silver Bullet Girls and a burrito from La Bamba's.
By that point I was living on 8th so I did the North to South and started at Ledo's. We weren't there very long and headed to that bar that was right next to the hookah bar. I can't remember the name but I remember always playing darts and Radiohead on the internet jukebox. That was during the World Baseball Classic and we watched a good portion of a game there before heading to The Library and down to the VC. From there the night turns into a haze. I remember being at The Ugly Tuna at some point and chatting with a few ladies, but that's about it. I also believe the next day was St. Paddy's day too, so after the commencement practice, it was back to the drinking.
Good call. I liked that bar but never went there enough.
Crikey, we must have done that at least 5 or 6 times per year while I was at Ohio State. It was pretty deadly, considering how many South Campus bars there were at the time. We considered the "crawl" to run from The Library to the Bier Stube with a brief foray off High Street to hit the Thirsty I on Lane. The Stube provided a good launching pad for the short stumble home to King Avenue.
Here's to Stube and may it never change. The dark wood and 70s vintage decor needs no improvement or updates.
Does Mr. Stube still work there? Heavy set guy, usually wearing a plain white t-shirt and polishing the same glass for hours?
Unfortunately I don't think there was a senior bar crawl back in the dark ages when I graduated-although Lord knows there were enough bars around, including the late, lamented Papa Joe's.
My OSU daughter graduated last year and did the bar crawl-and has the t-shirt to prove it. And, I might add, she does not wear it in public for good reason!
Mine was a blast until the snoop dogg concert got pepper sprayed and came through the vents/doors at paninis. I had one more stop before I went home to wash my eyes. My shirt has some things written on it that are simply horrifying.

I graduated in 2008. Our group started our crawl at Sloopy's and made it down all the way to Beer Stube. We went to 18 bars and had a golf score card on the back of our shirt for the 18 holes. If we had a drink at the bar we shot par, 2 drinks (-1), 3 drinks (-2) ect. One of the most fun experiences I had while at OSU. By time we hit "Amen Corner" things started getting quite wild. I'm the second on the left with the big Senior Crawl OSU logo.
Ugh. You're the guy who brought his girlfriend? I keed, I keed. I love the score card idea. Sounds like a great time!
Yep and I wasn't even a student at the time. Was just bar hopping on High St. when is was happening.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
I crawled every quarter of every year for 5 years. Figured all of the ones leading up to my actual senior crawl were training sessions.
