What the hell is wrong with you people !?!?!?!? Did everyone wake up fat-fingering their votes. Has a scUM fan hacked the poll? I would rather count the wrinkles on my dog's balls than watch them win. ArizonaBuckeye 8 Apr 2013, 2:09 pm Cannot believe it's at 30%!! This is disappointing. "There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you." -Woody Hayes- buckeyedude 8 Apr 2013, 8:44 pm I would rather count the wrinkles on my dog's balls than watch them win. That wasn't an option. I wonder what percentage would have picked it, were it an option? Funny shit, right there. And true. Buckeyevstheworld 8 Apr 2013, 6:56 am I'm ashamed of the 19 people that voted yes. "YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it. M Man 8 Apr 2013, 8:12 pm It was a trick question. Poison nuts 8 Apr 2013, 7:00 am Can't do it, & I really want the B1G to get it's title. My wife keeps asking me why I won't root for her team, you know, just do it for her...I keep telling her - because it's M*ch*gan. "Do not pass me, just slow down - I can move right through you" Superchunk - Precision Auto. buckeye4life050233 8 Apr 2013, 7:35 am not only bc it's michigan....it's bc no other big ten coach deserves the title more than matta.....if any other team in the big ten wins it i'd prefer it to be illinois or michigan state but definitely not michigan.......if michigan wins it will make matta's tenure that much more dire even though he has owned the big ten regular season most seasons he is not a great tourny coach being the fact that we always have 1 off night that bites our teams in the butt every year we are in the tourny whether we exceed expectations or under-perform Poison nuts 8 Apr 2013, 8:50 am That's what I was telling another friend of mine. He's an OSU fan that is rooting for UM because, B1G allegiance. My point to him is that it would suck that Matta has had all these good years & all this talent & hasn't pulled it & Bielien (who I have to admit is a good coach & likeable guy) could come in & win one that quick...dammit! the thought of it makes me angry. Then add to it how arrogant that fanbase is prone to becoming, and that would absolutely be an awful, awful, terrible thing. "Do not pass me, just slow down - I can move right through you" Superchunk - Precision Auto. cronimi 8 Apr 2013, 8:26 am Thad's tenure is not threatened. Despite his seeming lack of production in the NCAA tourney, so long as he continues to win B1G tourneys and/or regular seasons and mentors quality athletes and human beings (e.g., Sully, Tank, AC, etc.), he's not going anywhere unless he chooses to -- and I don't see him wanting to go anywhere. "Scrolling hurts my finger" (and FitzBuck was clearly the winner) Poison nuts 8 Apr 2013, 8:49 am I watched the 95 & 96 & 97 Games with her family. Her whole crew were fans/alums. I was the only OSU fan there. Suffice to say those were dark, shitty times. I stopped going over there for a while. However, once Tressel came in, I started watching with them again...Let me tell you, being the only OSU fan in a room full of those people as their team is being beaten for the 4th year in a row is AMAZING. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the means... "Do not pass me, just slow down - I can move right through you" Superchunk - Precision Auto. I'm just happy to be here Poison nuts 8 Apr 2013, 12:59 pm Yes she did root for OSU in those games. She's not near as vicious as I am about the rivalry, she even just bought our unborn son an OSU onesie... SPreston2001 8 Apr 2013, 9:10 am I would NEVER and I repeat NEVER root for scUM!! Oyster 8 Apr 2013, 10:09 am Hail and M Man have multiple screen names and keep voting? "Scrolling hurts my finger" (and FitzBuck was clearly the winner) Ahh Saturday 8 Apr 2013, 10:08 am When it comes to rooting for the B1G, and especially Michigan, I ask one question: how does it help Ohio State if this team wins? Sometimes an argument can be made that a Michigan win can help OSU, but I don't see how that would be the case in tonight's game. I do, however, see how a Michigan win can hurt us. In direct competition for recruits in basketball, Michigan would be able to claim a NC. In indirect competition for football recruits, a championship is a championship, and a win in basketball puts a nice shine on the entire athletic program. Finally, insufferable Michiganders would actually have a real accomplishment to boast about, making them insufferable squared, or possibly cubed; the math on Michigan insufferability is complex and still being argued about by top mathemeticians. ATT2121 8 Apr 2013, 11:03 am Not only accurate but well said +1000000000000 "It all goes so fast, and character makes the difference when it's close." Jesse Owens albinomosquito 8 Apr 2013, 10:46 am If the shoe were on the other foot, how many UM fans would be cheering for OSU? Zero. Let's not inflate their collective ego any more than it already is. ATT2121 8 Apr 2013, 11:05 am Again, totally on point. We are not the sec and a win for scUM does nothing but hurt our program. "It all goes so fast, and character makes the difference when it's close." Jesse Owens steensn 8 Apr 2013, 12:37 pm Actually probably about the same amount.... albinomosquito 8 Apr 2013, 2:10 pm All I'm saying is, when OSU is playing, I never hear a Michigan fan cheering for us to "win one for the B1G". In fact, they are usually screaming incoherent nonsense, cursing our mothers, and kicking puppies with OSU themed names. I think the Tressel years have made us soft.... thatlillefty 8 Apr 2013, 11:00 am I'll be rooting for meechigan tonight. As a conference, we need a national title badly (fball and hoops). And what a statement a win tonight would be for the league who collectively defeated the sun n blue 6 times this season. Also, a meechigan win tonight just makes this great rivalry even stronger. sir rickithda3rd 8 Apr 2013, 11:01 am i voted for michigan. burke woulda been a buckeye if offered. furthermore, he is from columbus. mark may wins douchebag of the year... again ATT2121 8 Apr 2013, 11:08 am Those who speak of the importance to the conference must of forgot the vitriol that has always been thrown are way when the shoe is on the other foot. Muck Fichigan "It all goes so fast, and character makes the difference when it's close." Jesse Owens Alice in Aggieland 8 Apr 2013, 11:41 am I wouldn't piss on scUM if it were on fire. That said, I'm with Jason on Burke/Beilein. Both rootable, classy guys who unfortunately contribute to the success of TSUN. NYC Buckeye 8 Apr 2013, 11:47 am I say it all the time, I root for all B1G teams, including Michigan, in most out of conference matchups, but as bad as the conference could use a national championship, you simply have to draw the line somewhere... can't root for Michigan to win a National Championship, ever... any other B1G team I would back, but not them... BuckeyeMike2002 8 Apr 2013, 11:53 am I would not cheer for Michigan if they played Al Qaeda. Those of you that are pushing this Big 10 Loyalty thing are way off. I'm sure Beilein is a nice guy, I'm glad Trey Burke is from Columbus and I will cheer for him when he gets to the league but as long as he is wearing piss and blue I won't cheer for him. Michigan is the better team and will probably win but no one will smile wider than me if Louisville beat their a$$. Q: What is the difference between the Michigan Football Team and a bag of crap. A: The Bag. Grant Edgell 8 Apr 2013, 12:08 pm YES Voters, Need help? I've done the research, you just need to fill out your information. Very easy process, and fairly inexpensive. You're welcome. APPLICATION FOR CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP - ADULTS - SUBSECTION 5 (1) bukyze 8 Apr 2013, 12:46 pm I've always dreamed of the day when TStateUN would get annexed to Canada. SC Buckeye 8 Apr 2013, 9:46 pm I'm pissed that I can't give you more than one upvote cplunk 8 Apr 2013, 12:53 pm I'll never understand conference rooting. It's like rooting for the AFC North. Who gives an f how the conference does? Stupid SEC'ers. This, to me, is the worst thing the SEC has given us; misguided people who think there should be some sense of conference loyalty, or who think we should root for other teams in the conference because it helps Ohio State. You know what helps Ohio State? Kicking ass on the field or court. Everything else is unimportant details. ***Edit: And right after I posted this, I saw that 11W used the same AFC North comparison in a front page story. Good on you, 11W. Buckeyeneer 8 Apr 2013, 12:58 pm This. The SECers wear it like a badge of honor. But really, it cheapens the entire experience of being a fan. You live and die with your team and this conference nut-swinging basically allows you to ride the high of your teams successes and then when the times are lean, you shift your allegiances (or at least your rooting interests) to whoever is doing well in your conference. They call it "supporting our own", I call it front running. Be a man, and take your lumps when your team is down. "Because the rules won't let you go for three." - Woody Hayes THE Ohio State University RedStorm45 8 Apr 2013, 1:26 pm 304 people aren't Buckeye fans. edit:309 Those of you voting for scUM (and are Buckeye "fans") have bought into this conference superiority B.S. being spewed by ESPN and CBS and so on. Wichita State could have easily beaten Louisville Saturday, right? It was a close game, they just blew the lead late. So saying WSU v.s. scUM could have been tonight's game isn't too far fetched. Say the Shockers would have WON tonight as well. Does that mean the MVC is the best conference in CBB? No. This argument is so stupid. NC winner does not automatically mean their conference is the best. Eff that. Michigan fans weren't rooting for us in football in '02, '06, '07. Grow a spine, you yes voters. CincyOSU 8 Apr 2013, 5:51 pm I don't necessarily think it is the conference superiority thing that the SEC loves to proclaim, but more wanting to avoid being lumped into the whole "well the B10 choked again" argument. As annoying as SEC fans are in football, BE fans are just as bad in CBB, especially when you live near an area with a BE team(as I am in Cincinnati). Even though OSU is not playing in the game, if UM loses we will undoubtedly get pulled into the chorus of trash talking towards the B10. If it weren't a BE team in the finals, I think most people who said they would root for UM would likely be singing a different tune. RedStorm45 8 Apr 2013, 6:32 pm Was the SEC proclaiming they were the best conference last year? Or when Florida won the title back to back? No. The argument is stupid. So, you (not you specifically, but whoever doesn't want to hear the B1G trashed) are scared of a little trash talk by overly arrogant fans? Wow. steensn 8 Apr 2013, 9:37 pm You miss the point, I don't buy into the conference superiority BS when I say "yes." What I am doing is recognize that most people do see the NC as THE show of dominance. It doesn't reflect my belief, it reflects my assessment of the view of others and most human beings. I want the BTen to look the best because it helps OSU. Why? Because the NC winner shows conference strength? Not at all... But most people believe it does and so I want OSU to look better whenever possible. UM winning, boosting how people see the BigTen, helps OSUs image... RedStorm45 8 Apr 2013, 10:24 pm You should stop caring how other people view OSU. This isn't football. They have a chance to prove it on the floor. BME_Buckeye 8 Apr 2013, 2:45 pm Nope I'll be watching WWE Raw. I'm could care less if they win or lose. The few Michigan fans I know won't rub their success in my face and vice versa so I'm not worried at all. Can you smell what the rock is cooking? Look closely, because the closer you think you are, the less you will actually see. schnaible5 8 Apr 2013, 1:59 pm If Michigan wins the title I win my NCAA bracket pool, not because I chose them to win, but because I need Louisville to lose. I'll be cheering for the meteor that crashes into Atlanta. WC Buckeye 8 Apr 2013, 2:54 pm Rooting for our archrival in anything <> OK. I would cheer against them in Academic Bowl. I used to be one of those guys who said he was a fan of all B1G schools whenever we weren't playing them, but after hearing the way our beloved institution was maligned during tatgate and UFM's hiring, they can all go screw themselves. And it isn't just athletics - it's academics, too, now. Those of us with degrees from this fine institution needn't ever hang our heads about our academic credentials. G O C A R D I N A L S!! Trey Burke was a Buckeye for the first 18 years of his life, is he still? No! Not in million-billion years should a Buckeye cheer for Our rivals to win a national championship, this isn't some silly bowl game for goodness sakes! Also the piss/sun and blue lost to Penn St. . . Penn f'ing St!! themostbrian 8 Apr 2013, 3:26 pm Why I’m begrudgingly rooting for UM: 1) B1G needs to end this drought 2) Screw the Big East as they leave 3) Pitino 4) More UM players will go pro with a big game 5) Barkley Savage45 8 Apr 2013, 3:37 pm Ohio State's drought will still be 53 years long regardless of the outcome tonight. You, me, OSU, and any other member of the B1G will not get any ancillary glory from a mich win. hodge 8 Apr 2013, 3:52 pm My only hesitance to root for Louisville is that most teams that I've been rooting for in the tourney have royally shit the bed...that said, I'm still rooting for the Cards at all costs. I've had a bad feeling about UM making a run in this tourney since the day the field was selected...I hate being right. kr66osu 8 Apr 2013, 6:54 pm If you're cheering for Michigan you aren't a buckeye fan It annoys the hell out of me how hypocritical people are, complaining so much about SEC fans cheering for a conference and then you people that voted 'yes' do the EXACT same thing. Buckeye_Mafia 8 Apr 2013, 6:17 pm No way should any real Buckeye fan root for the vagina of the midwest. Especially NOT a for a national title. Sacrilege. "At critical moments throughout the season, we learned about the character of this football team. This was a team of true character, of true resilience." -- President Barack Obama osubuckeye4life 8 Apr 2013, 6:32 pm This video perfectly sums up my feelings. YOU NEVER ROOT FOR TSUN!!!!!!!!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO I WOULD ROOT FOR ANYONE BUT TSUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am disappointed in some you. smh Geraffi 8 Apr 2013, 6:41 pm "Cheering for" is rather strong. BoFuquel 8 Apr 2013, 6:52 pm I can never cheer for any member of The Li'l 'Leven to win ever ,even when the play each other.I despise each and every one of the other members of our Konferentz.GO BUCKS! I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then. OSU BUCkS 8 Apr 2013, 7:28 pm Rooting for Michigan because I am a bigger Kentucky fan than I am ohio state in basketball and Louisville is the equivalent to Michigan for us. WC Buckeye 8 Apr 2013, 7:59 pm Errr, OK. I think. But isn't it kinda like saying that if a tie is like kissing your sister, it's not so bad because your sister's hot? Sorry for mixing metaphors, but rooting for Michigan is just still not right somehow. Football <> basketball, UM <> UK, ergo Michigan always sucks. I didn't downvote you and wouldn't for that kind of rationally-presented logic. I disagree with you, but I respect that you're still a Buckeye fan for football, at least! GO CARDINALS. The only thing that's new in the world is the history that we have forgotten. OSU BUCkS 8 Apr 2013, 8:04 pm Ha I get it. And I still root for ohio state in basketball and so tonight I pretty much hope no team wins but since that can't happen I'm forced to root for Michigan. WC Buckeye 8 Apr 2013, 8:07 pm I'll buy that one! I personally am hoping that they play to several overtimes and everyone fouls out before they can complete the game. Hovenaut Mod 8 Apr 2013, 8:32 pm http://days.to/7-september/2015 Rock on. luckynutz 8 Apr 2013, 9:33 pm This won't make me many friends...but I became a UK basketball fan at a very early age. My elementary school gym teacher is an alum, and a family friend. She turned me on to them...and I was hooked. Not to say that I don't pull for the buckeyes during the season. One can't help but have a soft spot for all buckeye sports. That being said...I hate louisville during basketball season almost as much as I hate michigan year round. The thought of that turncoat bitch pitino winning a title at louisville makes my stomach turn. Id rather a meteor strike the georgia dome and do us all a favor. Wish they could both lose...but the lesser of two evils is, begrudgingly, michigan. The one bright spot in it all is the fact if they win it, they can thank the great state of ohio for it being possible. No trey burke...they don't even sniff the title game That and I believe wichita state got jobbed in the final four. The way the refs swallowed their whistles during louisvilles "comeback" was a damn travesty in my mind. It was 8 on 5 the last 10 minutes of that game.
