Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell was selected as the Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year by both the media and the conference's 14 coaches, and was also one of just two unanimous All-B1G selections.

Mitchell enters the 2016-17 season as one of the most hyped players in the country, and for good reason. After just two seasons, she is already ninth in Ohio State history in scoring with 1,762 career points. She's well on pace to obliterate the school's scoring record and also set a new Big Ten and NCAA scoring record.

Ohio State was also selected to finish second in the conference by both the media and the coaches, finishing behind only Maryland. No Buckeye other than Mitchell was named to the All-B1G team.

Ohio State opens play with an exhibition game against Ashland on Nov. 6, before hosting Duquesne on Nov. 11 to open the regular season.
