Ohio State punter Cameron Johnston was named a finalist Monday for the Ray Guy Award — given to the nation's top punter.

Michael Dickson of Texas and Mitch Wishnowsky of Utah are the other two finalists.

Johnston, a senior from Geelong, Austrailia, leads the Big Ten and ranks fifth nationally with a 46.3-yard average. Johnston has led the Big Ten in punting for three straight seasons.

This year, 13 of Johnston's 43 punts traveled 50-plus yards and 21 have been downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Johnston's season long is 70 yards, which came in Ohio State's win over Wisconsin earlier this season. His career average is 44.7 yards per punt.

B.J. Sander is the only Ohio State player in history to win the Ray Guy Award. Sander won in 2003.

The Ray Guy Award will be handed out Dec. 8 at the Home Depot College Football Awards in Atlanta, Georgia.

Utah's Tom Hackett won the award in 2015.
