Coming off last weekend's inexplicable loss to Penn State, Ohio State hoped to make a statement on Saturday against an improving Northwestern squad. Though that didn't exactly happen, the Buckeyes held on for a 24-20 win over the Wildcats.

With the game tied at 17-all in the fourth quarter, quarterback J.T. Barrett led a six-play, 63-yard scoring drive to put Ohio State up by seven points. Northwestern had a chance to respond, but a 16-play, 60-yard drive only netted a field goal.

The Wildcats kicked the ball deep with three timeouts in their pocket, but the Buckeyes were able to run out the remaining three minutes left on the clock.

Barrett finished the game 21-of-32 passing for 223 yards, running back Mike Weber carried the ball 14 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns while H-Back Curtis Samuel added seven receptions for 68 yards.

Ohio State hosts Nebraska next Saturday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
