To get you prepped for the season we outlined a host of individual career Ohio State records in potential danger of being eclipsed throughout the course of 2016 and unsurprisingly J.T. Barrett's name came up early and often

In fact, Barrett was a threat to break or keep a hold of no less than 10 career marks.

Barrett kicked off the season scorching Bowling Green and answered that with a pedestrian game two against Tulsa before blowing up against Oklahoma in Norman.

After a bye week Barrett was back at it tossing four touchdown passes against Rutgers giving him 59 for his career at the time, breaking Bobby Hoying's school record of 57 which stood since 1995.

Against Indiana last weekend Barrett wasn't spectacular through the air completing just nine of 21 throws for 93 yards with a touchdown and an interception but he did work on the ground tallying 137 yards with a score.

Heading in this weekend's showdown in Camp Randall, here's an updated look at where Barrett stands in his pursuit of numerous school records.

CAREER PASSING YARDS

With just 93 passing yards versus the Hoosiers, Barrett upped his career total to 4,807 putting him only 283 yards away from overtaking Jim Karsatos (5,089 yards) for ninth place on the school's all-time list.

The subpar passing day against Indiana pushed Art Schlichter's career mark of 7,547 yards even further out of reality – this season anyway – as Barrett would need to average 343 passing yards per game if Ohio State were to play the realistic minimum of eight more games (fail to make B1G championship but play in a bowl) or 274 yards per outing if Ohio State were to make it all the way to the national championship game.

CAREER PASSING YARDS PER GAME

Entering the season, the one and only Joe Germaine held down the top spot for career passing yards per game with an average of 172.2 as he threw for 6,370 yards in 37 career games despite being forced to share time with Stanley Jackson.

Meanwhile, Barrett came into the 2016 season in second place all-time averaging 166.3 passing yards per game despite also sharing snaps for a portion of his career to date.

Barrett's big day versus Bowling Green pushed him in front of Germaine but after his outings against Tulsa (149) and Oklahoma (152), Barrett and Germaine were deadlocked at the 172.2 mark. Barrett regained the career lead after his 238 passing yards against Rutgers but after the aforementioned 93 yards against Indiana, Barrett is once again in second place all-time – by a nose – with a 171.7 average.

Of course, a bounceback performance against Wisconsin will put him back in the driver's seat.

J.T. Barrett can retake Ohio State's career lead in passing yards per game with a solid outing at Wisconsin.
CAREER 200-YARD PASSING GAMES

Entering the 2016 season, Bobby Hoying is your all-time school leader with 16 outings of 200+ passing yards, doing so in 36% of his games.

Barrett began the season in seventh place with 11 such outings and after throwing for 349 yards against Bowling Green and 238 against Rutgers, Barrett now finds himself in third place all-time, one behind Steve Bellisari and four away from breaking Hoying's career mark.

For comparison sake, Barrett has thrown for at least 200 yards in 46% of his games.

CAREER 300-YARD PASSING GAMES

As you'd probably guess, Germaine holds the school's all-time mark for 300+ yard passing games with eight.

Barrett entered the season in second place all-time with four such outings and pushed that total to five when he lit up the Falcons for 349 passing yards in Ohio State's season opener.

He would have to catch fire to make a run at Germaine's mark this year but assuming Barrett returns in 2017, this is another record that could be Barrett's for the taking.

CAREER 200-YARD TOTAL OFFENSE GAMES

The one and only Braxton Miller owns the current school record for career 200+ yard total offense games with 22.

Barrett entered the 2016 slate in sixth place all-time with 15 such performances and after his 230-yard total offense output against Indiana made it five straight games this year eclipsing that barrier, he now stand alone in second place all-time with 20.

At this rate Barrett will set the new school record of 23 such games when Ohio State takes on Northwestern three games from now on October 29 in the Shoe.

With 200+ yards of total offense versus Wisconsin, J.T. Barrett will move to within one game of Braxton Miller's school record of 22 such outings.
CAREER COMPLETIONS

A name we mentioned earlier, Bobby Hoying, holds the current OSU record for career completions with 498.

Barrett entered the 2016 season outside the school's top-10 list with 296 career completions.

With 79 completions through Ohio State's first five games Barrett's career mark now stands at 375, good for ninth place all-time and just two completions away from passing Mike Tomczak for the eighth spot.

It might be a stretch considering his season-high is 21 completions (Bowling Green, Rutgers) but if Barrett can connect 22 times Saturday night against Wisconsin he would vault all the way to sixth place all-time, edging past Miller's tally of 396.

As far as Hoying's all-time mark is concerned, Barrett needs 124 more completions to set the new gold standard. If Ohio State plays the realistic minimum of eight more games he'll need to average 15.5 completions per game but he'll need just 12.4 per outing if the Buckeyes make it to the national championship.

For perspective, Barrett is averaging 15.8 completions through his first five games this season and stands at 13.4 completions per game over the course of his 28-game career.

CAREER TOUCHDOWN PASSES

You already know the story on this one.

Hoying entered the season as the all-time leader at Ohio State with 57 touchdown passes but Barrett surpassed that mark against Rutgers as part of a four touchdown toss performance against the lowly Scarlet Knights pushing his career total to 59.

As noted, Barrett wasn't sharp against Indiana last weekend but he still found Dontre Wilson for six late in the game improving his career record to 60.

CAREER TOUCHDOWNS RESPONSIBLE FOR

Miller is your current record-holder with 88 career touchdowns responsible for while Barrett entered the season in fourth place all-time with 67 of his own.

With a passing touchdown and a rushing score against Indiana, Barrett pushed his season total to 19 touchdowns responsible for and by extension, his career mark climbed to 86 which was good enough to pass Art Schlichter's mark of 85 for second place.

As such, Miller's record is on notice as Barrett heads to Camp Randall to take on a stingy Badger defense. Of course, even if the record doesn't fall this weekend, a healthy Barrett will no doubt set a new standard the following week at Penn State.

In addition to these categories where Barrett could ultimately emerge as the school's all-time leader he's already Ohio State's career record holder in completion percentage (64.2%), career average total offense per game (241.8), most games with six touchdown passes (2) and career 300-yard total offense games (12).
