Ohio State defeated Oklahoma 45-24 last night in Norman and as a result moved up to No. 2 in the Coaches Poll, the highest ranking for the Buckeyes so far this season. Ohio State, previously ranked No. 4, jumped up two spots this week. Oklahoma, previously ranked No. 14, was knocked out of the rankings entirely.

The number one spot remained with Alabama, to no surprise, after its close encounter with Ole Miss. A major change in the top five came from Florida State, falling from No. 2 to No. 14 after getting demolished by Louisville 63-20. Louisville, however, moved up six places to No. 4.

Six Big Ten schools remained ranked in the poll. Nebraska went from being unranked to No. 20 after defeating Oregon and Iowa dropped from 11 to 25 after a loss to an FCS school.

Next week Ohio State will have a bye before taking on Rutgers at home October 1.
