OHIO STATE IS BACK ON THE ASCENSION

The new polls are out, and the Buckeyes, fresh off their vanquishing of Cincinnati, rose two spots in the Coaches Poll to No. 18. The Buckeyes clocked in at No. 20 in the AP Poll.

The headlines will obviously belong to Alabama, with a strong performance against perennial powerhouse BYE, overtaking Florida State for the No. 1 spot in the Coaches Poll.

Michigan State is the Big Ten's highest ranked team, checking-in at No. 10 in both polls. The pollsters continue to be dubious — for whatever reasons — of Michigan. The Wolverines did not receive a single vote in either poll.

The Big Ten, however, has four teams ranked in each poll. (Compared to the ACC's one.) The SEC leads the way with three teams in the top ten.
