Urban Meyer appeared on ESPN's Mike & Mike Thursday morning where he touched on several topics.

On the strength of the Big Ten...
“There's no doubt in my mind that a good chunk of Big Ten teams can compete in any conference in America.”

On his Florida Experience...
"We'll always be Gators. We'll always pull for the Gators and I hope they have a great year.”

On the running backs...
“There's a guy named Ezekiel Elliott – certainly not the starter right now, but the way he handles himself on and off the field, he'll probably get the first snap Monday.”

On LeBron James...
“He's the classiest big-time athlete I've ever been around. He walks in the room and he's the CEO.”

I was the most interested in his comments about Curtis Samuel. Spoke in glowing terms about him, almost as if he was second behind Eze.

I was shocked by his admiration for Samuel. Pretty early for that kind of acknowledgment. Kid has a tremendous future before him.

First and goal at the five and Arch is getting the ball.

On the SportsCenter piece he basically says Samuel is running at 2A with Rod Smith being 2B...

He also said that Curtis Samuel stole his heart and Brionte Dunn, Warren Ball, and Rod Smith need to elevate their play

I'm still trying to figure out what is the more important when listening to UFM, what he says or what he doesn't say.

So who wants to follow that guy on set?  Hoke? Hoke?  Anyone seen Hoke he's up next?

I'm so happy this guy is our coach.  He was literally the best replacement we could have landed after Tressel.

It's great to hear about Samuel, rarely we get some Brooklyn boys at elite programs.

And you know THIS....man!

I like Brionte Dunn a lot, but I think EzE will be solid as a starter.

Very thoughtful and important comments from Urban in terms of how the NCAA intends to help the players AND FAMILIES as we go into this four team system.   It truly only impacts a handful of teams, but I appreciate Meyer pointing out the imbalance that his family and the coaches' families and other staff's families will be taken care of in traveling to the games, but the players' families are on their own.   And I agree with him that the bowl games, the pressure to help family and friends make it there, adds a lot to the lure of players seeking extra benefits - a lure that's avoidable.

Thinking back to the Clarett situation, the whole thing unraveled starting with Clarett wanting a waiver for OSU to fly him back for his friend's funeral.  Travel is definitely a big part of the equation.

Damn, I love listening to him speak. Not sure what it is. I guess it is what seems like brutal honesty and you know what you are going to get.

Me, too!  He is not exactly eloquent but he is sincere, honest, quite frank, and won't pad any bad thoughts with crap.  If he doesn't like something, he says that - no beating around the bush.  I had a boss like that and he was THE BEST to work for.  You knew where you stood with him, and if you acted professionally, like a man, and did your job to the best of your abilities, he would bend over backwards for you...  I think UFM is this type of man.

What you're hearing is called INTELLIGENCE.

What I love about Urban is that he would have succeeded in any field that he chose in life. He just happened to want to be a football coach.

Think you could say the same about Brady Hoke, Steve Spurrier, Les Miles (maybe he could be a comedian)?

Nah, Urbz is a professional businessman. He's like the Kanye of CFB.

How many cheeseburgers are you gunna drive into that dirty old cheeseburger locker Brady Hoke?

Except Kanye is a childish, obnoxious, annoying little chump.  I would compare Urban Meyer to Jay Z if I had to choose a rapper.

I actually love Kanye, he's my favorite musical artist of all-time. But that's probably the most unpopular opinion I could have on these boards, so...

When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

I will give him credit on the, "...because my life is dope, and I do dope Sh*t" quote, as told by Dave Chappelle.

I can agree with ya, for some reason I still like Kanye despite his douchebag attitude and his God complex. His old albums are especially good.

WTF? Kayne West is one of the biggest douchebags in the history of mankind.

When Urban said Tim Tebow was one of the top 2 toughest athletes he had ever been around, anyone else figure that John Simon was the other one?

First and goal at the five and Arch is getting the ball.

That was my thought exactly! Simon was a bad dude on the field.

But Kanye gets what he wants. Always.

Urban Meyer talks about Curtis Samuel every chance he gets and it has to be pretty tough to impress a coach of his caliber so easily expect big things for #4 I'm guessing he will be used a lot..CANT WAIT
