Ohio State football's new locker room.

Urban Meyer tweeted out a handful of photos of Ohio State's new football locker room at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and – well, we'll just let you judge for yourself.

Here's a shot of the new lockers:

Gatorade would be better.

Water? Gatorade?

There should be a JUICE wall and a wall for the players that didn't fare so well called the "Lavender Wall" and those players that had days that weren't so good should have to sit in front of it while thinking of what they can do to help The Ohio State University win a National Title!!!

"I hope they're last in everything". One of Meyer's comments when speaking of TTUN after being hired at Ohio State.

Love the one looking down the middle. Looks like a train, the Silver Bullet Express! Next stop...

SAWEET new digs!

The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced

nice, per my comment in the skull session…awesome stuff 11w, thanks for these.

Love it - and just in time for FNL...let's hope the recruits get a view of what awaits if you decide to sign - a program that will continue to be successful (and a sweet locker room).

I'm making an announcement next Tuesday to put out my Top 16 schools in no particular order but I can safely say OSU is on that list.

I want the light fixture in the pic of the tv lounge.  I wonder if Home Depot has that in stock?

Holy crap! How did I miss that?

Is it a coincidence that Heuerman is next to X-Brax... I foreshadow some frequent and big TE plays this year... and as for the waterfall - eh... it's ok... a bit gimmicky if you ask me, but doesn't hurt the ambience I suppose

I'm thinking lockers of team captains are next to each other.

Possibly a dumb question:  How does the "Buckeyes in the NFL" signage work?  Do the 16 dots on the wall represent the Buckeye players currently playing in the league, because that seems low to me.  Does it have a name and/or number on the dot?  Are the dots even relevant?  Are there horse socks?  Is anyone even listening to me?

Dairy-fed intellect and pure, unhinged sass.

CCatanzaro's picture

Thanks PB!  That would be a hell of a lot more than 16 dots.  Maybe they continue wrapping around to another wall?

Those discs represent each NFL team logo. There are 16 more on the opposite side and that specific locker area is for former players to use in the off season.

That's pretty awesome.  Thanks for clarifying!  The more you know...

Did anyone else notice which team had the most Buckeyes on the roster?

Here's a hint: they aren't in the state of Ohio.

PittBuckeye's picture

I did notice that, at first I was wondering why their space was so much bigger than the others. Then I noticed the pile of OSU guys they had to fit in there.

Yes Andy.  And I just gained a whole new respect for the black & gold.

This is awesome! That TV wall would be great after a noon game to catch the action from around the country.

I'm guessing the waterfall is some sort of Zen thing!  Not sure if the kids will understand it but if it works.  Urban is the Zen Master!

Those are some close quarters.  I hope the stainless steel locker doors came with the gull-wing option:

Those hooks in the lockers look like potential eye pokers.

Jbuckham94's picture

Well if the previous players and alums won't allow black jerseys, it looks like Urban is doing all he can to replace gray with silver/chrome for alternate jerseys. That's what I'm kinda picking up with all te chrome in the locker room. It looks awesome!

Class of 2016. Go Bucks!

ibuck's picture

Men's hoops has a better locker room—more spacious. But that's a (smaller) numbers thing.

Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !

If you can't win your conference, just quietly accept your non-playoff bowl game.

Buckeye Knight's picture

Looks great!  Just noticed that the lockers are no longer arranged in a row by jersey number.

Mercurius's picture

The lockers look nice but for $2.5 million, you can't put drywall on the ceiling? Other than the giant Block O chandelier, the lighting is pretty bad too. I'm not a fan of overhead, fluorescent lighting--especially if you're going for a zen atmosphere. Meh, hopefully 17 and 18 year old kids aren't that interested in good design.

ohst8buxCP's picture

Yes because i'm sure the players want to sacrifice the bad ass lockers and TV's for a drywall ceiling.... The lighting is fine, the darker lighting is a lot cooler especially before games to get pumped up. Apparently people will find a way to criticize everything.

Mercurius's picture

For $2.5 million, I wouldn't think you would have to sacrifice anything. You can get any hue you want, from cool to warm, with directional can lights or track lighting.

Mercurius's picture

I just want ours to look nicer than Alabama's, Tennessee's, Texas' and Oregon's. Good architecture and design are the most critical component of this. I wouldn't pay for a luxury hotel with dropped ceilings and fluorescent lighting; same if I were remodeling a home. We are competing with the best of the best and details matter.

Needs more chrome.

I feel like when you pull on one of those stainless steel drawers its going to come out about 6 feet and have a ice cold hookers body in there. Shit looks tight and I love stainless steel but I also love my shiny expensive erotic hardwoods also.

Mark my words..I don't need acceptance. I'm catching interceptions on you innocent pedestrians.

Um...what are talking about here?

Is it just me or is the locker room really narrow?

+1 HS
Buckeye Knight's picture

I haven't been in this new one, but the old one had different aisles, I imagine this is similar.

GlueFingers Lavelli's picture

At a glance I thought those lockers were Sub-Zero fridges.

Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.

Did anyone else immediately call up visions of the locker rooms from their own sports teams past?  Talking cold concrete floors, grimy showers, lint filled fans and that ever so distinctive odor....  Or was that just me?  Slightly different ambiance to the Bucks new get up....

buckeyedude's picture

I love the stainless steel look. Very modern and seen in many homes nowadays. It's like a long row of Sub Z's.

Edit: You beat me to it, GlueFingers.
