The Hurry Up is your nightcap of Ohio State recruiting news, catching you up on the day’s events with an ear on the ground for what’s next.

NICK BOSA INJURED, SENIOR SEASON OVER

In case you missed it earlier, the rash of injuries suffered by Ohio State commitments continues. Unlike the scare suffered by Jonathon Cooper two weeks ago, this time the injury is a bit more serious.

Nick Bosa, the five-star defensive and brother of Ohio State All-American Joey Bosa, will miss the rest of his senior season following a knee injury suffered last week.

Bosa is, as you'd expect, keeping a positive focus and is working towards a full recovery.

"He's very focused, as always," Nick's mother, Cheryl told Eleven Warriors. "He's sad about his high school career being over but focused on doing what he needs to do to be ready next year."

Also, don't feel bad for him, because that won't make him happy.

On the other side of the coin, his path to Ohio State took a giant step a few days ago.

Best wishes to Nick on a speedy recovery.

COOPER UPDATES HIS STATUS

As mentioned above, and last week, Jonathon Cooper injured his right knee two weeks ago. Although he played a half during last Thursday's game against Pickerington Central, he's still not close to full speed.

Cooper told 11W that he's trying to take his recovery day-by-day.

"I'm OK," Cooper said. "It just hurts. I'm resting a lot now."

Cooper and Gahanna Lincoln open their 2015 playoff run Friday at home against Cincinnati St. Xavier.

BORLAND, JUAREZ HONORED BY BUTKUS SEMIFINAL LIST

Two years ago, Ohio State sophomore linebacker Raekwon McMillan won the prestigious Butkus Award as the country's best high school linebacker. Last year, Buckeyes' freshman Justin Hilliard was a finalist for the award. This year? Ohio State pledge Tuf Borland who is hoping to make a splash and win the award.

Monday, Borland was named as one of 15 semifinalists for the award

The 2015 High School Butkus Semifinalists

Borland's inclusion on the list is not a surprise. The Bolingbrook, Illinois, standout's senior season has been nothing short of spectacular, he's had multiple games with 20-plus tackles and has been the key cog on defense for his team.

Another Ohio State linebacker target, California's Mique Juarez, also made the list. The Buckeyes are hoping he'll make an official visit on Nov. 21.

DOTSON ADDS BIG OFFER, COULD VISIT THIS WEEKEND

When Illinois' 2017 tight end Cole Kmet committed to Notre Dame in October, the Buckeyes options at the position – if they choose to take one in that class – shrunk dramatically, basically all the way to one. That one is Cincinnati Moeller's Matt Dotson, whom the Buckeyes offered this past summer.

Dotson, 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, missed the first five games of his junior season following wrist surgery, but he says he's back to healthy and ready to go. Last night, he added an offer from Michigan State.

"My wrist is good," Dotson told 11W. "Playing again was amazing, it was great to be back on the field with my teammates."

For the first time in a long time, the Crusaders failed to make the Ohio state playoffs and with that, you can expect to see Dotson get a bit more active in his recruitment. This coming weekend could see him in Columbus with his current teammate Jake Hausmann, who will be visiting the Buckeyes.

"I was going to go to Tennessee," Dotson shared. "But my mom works so going to Ohio State might be an option."

Tennessee has been a factor in Dotson's recruitment for a while now, and the Volunteers are probably the biggest competition for Ohio State at this point.

OHIO STATE WATCHING WARREN G. HARDING STAR

Last Friday night, Ohio State's Tim Beck spent his night on the sidelines watching Warren G. Harding and Howland.

Lynn Bowden is not going to play quarterback in college, at least not if he ends up at Ohio State, but the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder is definitely a prospect worth paying attention to if you like the Buckeyes. He currently has offers from West Virginia, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Toledo, and Indiana, but it's clear he's caught the attention of the Ohio State staff. Why? Check out his highlight tape from last season and you'll see exactly why.

Bowden transferred to Harding from Liberty High School and it's paid off for him so far, because the attention he's received – along with the game comparisons – are making him a hot commodity.

Looks like 11W reader Bucks4Real was on to something last year.

With the decommitment of Bruce Judson a month ago, a player like Bowden could absolutely find his way into the Ohio State 2017 class.
