2017 Running Back Todd Sibley Hopes to be One of the Greats

The class of 2017 is still in the early stages of the recruiting process, but Ohio State is in the mix for some of 2017's best prospects. One talented player the Buckeyes are looking at in 2017 is an Akron product, Archbishop Hoban running back Todd Sibley.

Sibley, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound running back, is one of the most promising players in the state. In December, Sibley was named to the freshman All-American team by Maxpreps.com.

"That was awesome," Sibley said of making the freshman All-American team. "I'll never forget the day that I got the call from my coach that I had made the team. That was one of the best moments of my freshman season."

Being from Ohio, Ohio State is one of the main schools that Sibley is interested in. He credits that to the program that Urban has created in Columbus.

"The fact that they are the home state team and are a winning program is a big reason as to why I like Ohio State," Sibley said of his interest. "I love Coach Meyer too. The way he coaches his players and just the way he interacts with prospects and his players is amazing."

Recruiting has been slow for Sibley since the end of summer, as he has been getting ready for the season. Sibley has not been to Ohio State recently, but he did visit for the spring game. He enjoyed every part of the game, including getting to come out of the tunnel with the team. He also spent some time with his good friend, Danny Clark, who has been a tireless recruiter for the 2017 class.

Besides the team goal of getting to the playoffs this season (Hoban missed the Division II playoffs in 2013), Sibley is focused on the season and ready to show coaches what he can do. He has a personal goal of rushing for 2,000 yards this season. After rushing for 197 yards and three scores in Archbishop Hoban's first game of the season, he is off to a good start.

There's no telling if Sibley will achieve his goals (even with a good start), or whether his team will make the playoffs. Whether or not his team succeeds, Sibley ought to be one of the best prospects in the nation come signing day 2017.

As a Hoban alum, I would love to see them send a player down to OSU. Best of luck to you Mr. Sibley keep working hard.

We were born to love Ohio State and hate that team up north.

Pretty good highlights. Kid looks like he can be of the Hyde Mold. Not afraid to dip his shoulder and create contact, nice stiff-arm in the one run too. With many more years of development, this kid can be scary good.

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

Call me crazy (or Nutty!) but I thought he looked more like Mo Clarrett.

What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!

I'll assume you got DVd because of "UM"

When talking about Urban Meyer go with UFM,Urban 3:16,The Chosen One....not UM,too close to TTUN

I know this may be an overstatement, but Todd looks like he has some Beanie Wells in him.

I like how you're getting DVs by saying Beanie...but everyone is going with Hyde. Let me ask..whats the difference? Big, physical runners

Reminds me of MoC. Short stride and he sideways stutter step to find the hole.

Definitely Hyde-ish characteristics. Would love to see him commit and position himself as a leader in the class with Danny Clark.

Who is that #7 Linebacker that runs him down at the :30 sec mark? He reminded me of Hubbard's playing.

Go Bucks!!
