In 1936 the NFL held its first draft. Two Buckeyes were selected and thus began the 80 year relationship of Ohio State providing talented players to the NFL machine. This series will break down all eight NFL divisions and the teams that drafted the 416 Ohio State players.

This is the final piece of Buckeyes In The NFL Draft for 2016.

NFC NORTH

Teams in the NFC North have selected 87 Buckeyes. 13 of the 87 were first round picks. The Bears lead the North with five Buckeye first round draft picks.

Chicago Bears
The Bears are first in the NFC North and rank 2nd all-time with 30 Ohio State draft picks. The first Buckeye selected by Chicago was guard Gust Varnas in 1938. The last Ohio State player drafted by the Bears was linebacker Marcus Freeman in 2009.

Highest selected player
RB Don Clark was the 7th pick of the 1959 NFL Draft. However, Clark decided to play in the CFL instead of the NFL. He played his rookie season with the Ottawa Rough Riders. At the end of the '59 season he had a contract dispute and was traded to the Montreal Alouettes. Clark played until 1963 before retiring due to injuries.

Green Bay Packers
With 24 Buckeyes drafted the Packers are second in the NFC North and rank 4th all-time. The first Ohio State player picked by Green Bay was end Merle Wendt in 1937. The last Ohio State player drafted by the Packers was center Corey Linsley in 2014.
